Beberapa waktu lalu aku nemuin anime ini di
internet, dan iseng nonton karena ceritanya juga cukup singkat, cuma 3 episode
aja. Tapi
ternyata ceritanya dalem bangeett..
Jadi secara garis besar, film ini menceritakan
hubungan persahabatan antara dua orang - Tohno Takaki dan Ahinohara Akari -
yang kemudian harus dipisahkan jarak karena Akari harus pindah ke kota lain,
dan hubungan persahabatan itu dilanjutkan dengan saling berkirim surat.
“The last time we saw each
other was at our elementary school graduation ceremony. Half a year has already
passed since then. Hey, Takaki-kun, do you still remember me?”

Suatu hari Takaki pun harus pindah ke lain kota -
ke tempat yang lebih jauh lagi - yang membuat Takaki memutuskan untuk
menghampiri Akari, meskipun harus berkali-kali berganti kereta.
Dan mereka pun
kembali berpisah dengan perasaan yang tidak mampu mereka sampaikan, hanya janji
untuk tetap saling berkirim surat.
Namun jarak dan waktu semakin memisahkan dua hati,
membuatnya semakin tak beriring. Dan komunikasi pun akhirnya tak lagi tercipta.

Beberapa tahun kemudian, Takaki pun kembali ke kota
asal. Dan
tanpa sengaja bersimpangan jalan dengan seseorang dari masa lalunya..

Dan satu lagu di akhir episode 3 dengan suksesnya
bikin aku nangis. What a tragic love, I guess, saat waktu memaksa seseorang untuk terus
melangkah maju sementara masa lalu masih terus berada di sudut ingatan dan
menyelinap kembali di saat-saat terlemah kita..
